The administration of the Connector Card program will officially occur on October 1, 2022. At that time YCDC will manage all aspects of the program and be your primary contact for all Connector Card related questions or queries. YCDC has been managing a pilot Connector Card program with nearly 600 users since April 2022 and is fully experienced in the program and processes.
You will not have to apply to YCDC to receive the new Connector Card. YCDC is working with Seabury and DACL to ensure a smooth transition of all active users to the new Card without any loss in service. Your new card is being processed and will be delivered before October 15, 2022, directly to your home address listed in the program records.
The transition will be done in phases because of the high amount of unused funds in the current program. All active Seabury users with remaining card balances of $0.00 to $100.00 as of September 16, 2022, will be the first users to be transitioned to the new Connector Card. Active users with remaining card balances of greater than $100.00 are expected to use the remaining funds on the Seabury card before they receive a new Connector Card. Please contact us when your remaining balance is nearing $50.00 and a new card will be initiated.
Contact us at 202-420 7534 or at firstname.lastname@example.org before your card expiration date and we will send you a new card within 7-business days of request received.
The remaining funds on your Seabury card is not being transferred to the new card so you are expected to use those funds before using your new card from YCDC.
On September 25, 2022, all active Seabury users should have received a $50.00 funds reload. The next Seabury reload was scheduled for October 15, 2022. On that date the YCDC issued card will be activated and automatically funded with $100.00 for active users with $0.00 subsidy amounts. Users with subsidy payments will receive their initial funding when the subsidy payment is received. The YCDC Card program does a single load of $100.00 per month versus the two $50.00 per month reloads.
You will receive automatic monthly reloads 30 days after the initial funds load was done. For the users being transitioned on October 15th the next reload should occur on November 15th.
You can pay your monthly subsidy through the Connector-Card website by clicking on Contributions and entering credit card information, through the official card management program at EZ Transport, by mailed in check payable to Yellow Cab Co. of DC with memo “Connector Card” or in person at our office at 1636 Bladensburg Road NE, Washington DC 20002.
New applications received over the past month by both YCDC and Seabury are on currently on-hold. The combined programs have exceeded the number of budgeted users. We will have a clearer picture when the first phase of the transition is completed by October 31st. Each user will be notified about the status of their application once the review is completed.
The card is solely for ground transportation services including Uber, Lyft, Taxicab, Metro fare cards in and outside of DC. The card cannot be used for non-ground transportation services like airline tickets or retail purchases.
The new online system is fully automated, and you can obtain your balance, view your transactions, and make subsidy payments. You may also call the automated system to get your balance.
